The ACCUPRO 12176897 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that improves hardness and wear resistance at the cutting edge. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration handles center cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. With a 3/16 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length, this tool is sized for fine detail work in production and toolroom environments. Machinists and CNC operators working with hardened steels, stainless, and high-temp alloys will find the micrograin carbide substrate and TiCN finish well suited to demanding feed and speed requirements.
This end mill is used in CNC vertical machining centers, manual mills, and tool-and-die applications where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations in pocketed features and profiled slots. The single-end, centercutting design supports ramping, helical interpolation, and direct plunge entry. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in precision machining setups. It is well suited to finishing passes on close-tolerance features in aerospace, mold-and-die, and medical component work.
Designed for use in standard CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck. Suitable for machining ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys consistent with TiCN-coated micrograin carbide tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine tool manufacturer specification before engaging the spindle. Inspect the collet bore and tool shank for chips or contamination prior to seating. Never run the tool above the speed and feed parameters established for the workpiece material and machine rigidity; exceeding these limits with small-diameter carbide tooling significantly increases the risk of breakage.
