The ACCUPRO 12176864 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 3/32-inch (0.0938-inch) cutting diameter with a 9/32-inch (0.2813-inch) length of cut, a 1/8-inch shank diameter, and a 1-1/2-inch overall length. The two-flute, spiral configuration runs a 30-degree helix angle and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Micrograin carbide construction provides the wear resistance and rigidity required for tight-tolerance work. This is a long-reach configuration with a 0.625-inch reach length, suited to machining in confined pockets or stepped features.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations. Its uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup is a concern. The long-reach geometry is appropriate for applications requiring clearance above the cutting zone, such as stepped cavities or recessed floor features. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolroom environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as a standard shank replacement end mill for use in any toolholder or collet accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank, including ER-series collet chucks, precision end mill holders, and equivalent toolholding systems.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked or e-stop state. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate collet or end mill holder to achieve secure clamping without deforming the shank. Verify runout with a dial test indicator after installation, as micrograin carbide tools are sensitive to runout-induced chipping. Consult the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
