The ACCUPRO 12176845 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance at small diameters where rigidity and edge retention are critical. The mill measures 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) in diameter with a 3/32 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Its 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With 2 flutes and a stub-length body, this end mill suits tight-tolerance work in confined areas. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians, it fits standard CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is suited for light finishing passes, slot milling, and profile milling in materials where a small-diameter, uncoated micrograin carbide tool is appropriate. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration match standard spindle rotation. Its stub overall length of 1.5 inches provides added stiffness, reducing deflection at this fine diameter. Typical applications include mold work, prototype machining, and precision component manufacturing where small feature geometry is required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/8 inch shank collet holders used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and high-speed spindle setups requiring a 3/64 inch square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully in the collet and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. At this diameter, avoid side loads that exceed the tool's deflection limits — take conservative radial and axial depths of cut and confirm workholding is secure before engaging the spindle.
