The ACCUPRO 12176831 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With 2 flutes and a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, this tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where edge geometry and coating performance are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this end mill for applications demanding tight tolerances and extended tool life.
This end mill is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills performing finish and semi-finish milling on hardened steels, stainless alloys, cast iron, and similar materials where TiCN coatings provide a performance advantage. The single-end, centercutting configuration allows plunge entry, making it practical for pocketing operations as well as peripheral and face milling. The 1 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and end mill holders common in production and job-shop environments. The micrograin carbide substrate supports the fine edge retention needed in close-tolerance work.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use with standard 1 inch end mill holders and collet chucks in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning the operation, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise corner radius accuracy.
