The ACCUPRO 12176824 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1.75 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and slotting applications. The 4 inch overall length and 1 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard milling chucks and collet holders. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be plunged directly into the workpiece as well as used for peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in job shop, tool-and-die, and production environments. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction are the standard configuration for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal spindles. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials where coating buildup is a concern, as well as general-purpose steel roughing and finishing where a coated tool is not specified. Machinists and CNC programmers in metalworking shops are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style single-end corner radius end mill for use in standard 1 inch diameter milling chucks, collet holders, and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial test indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish.
