The ACCUPRO 12176683 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard-material applications. With a 0.3438-inch cutting diameter and a 0.02-inch corner radius, it produces blended edges and reduces stress concentrations in workpiece corners. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 35-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The TiCN coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge and ramp entry. Machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills, vertical machining centers, and manual mills install this tool type.
This end mill suits stub-length applications where rigidity is prioritized over reach. The 0.5-inch length of cut and 3/8-inch shank diameter make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher spindle speeds and feeds compared to standard-grain carbide. It is suited for production shops, tool and die work, and precision part manufacturing where corner geometry control is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank, including ER collet chucks and end mill holders in that bore size.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool holder secured in the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces corner radius accuracy.
