The ACCUPRO 12176628 is a single-end corner radius end mill ground from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for extended tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. It measures 5/8 inch in diameter with a 0.025 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and produces a controlled fillet on machined workpieces. The 7/8 inch length of cut (LOC) and 3-flute right-hand spiral geometry balance chip evacuation with wall finish quality. Overall length is 3 inches. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
This tool is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where an AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece, making it practical for pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and milling chucks common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes depending on depth of cut and material hardness.
Designed for use in standard 5/8 inch ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or milling chucks on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers that accept a 5/8 inch shank diameter end mill.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge depth before torquing the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping or coating delamination before each use. Refer to the tool manufacturer feed and speed charts and the machining center operator manual for starting parameters.
