The ABI FOUNDRY 3595 is a service weight cast iron reducer fitting used in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It transitions a 4-inch pipe down to a 2-inch pipe using a spigot-by-hub end configuration, allowing it to connect directly into a hub-end fitting or pipe section. Rated for temperatures from 32 degrees F to 212 degrees F, this reducer is suited for gravity-flow sanitary drain lines in residential and light commercial applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters specify cast iron DWV fittings for their noise-dampening properties and long service life in both above-grade and below-grade installations.
This fitting is used in cast iron DWV systems where a line size reduction is required at a branch connection or main stack transition. The spigot end inserts into an adjacent hub, and the hub end receives the incoming spigot of the smaller pipe. Typical install locations include stack reductions, branch takeoffs, and fixture drain connections in multifamily residential buildings, commercial structures, and institutional projects where cast iron is specified by code or owner preference. Domestic manufacture supports Buy American project requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for service weight cast iron DWV piping systems using 4-inch to 2-inch spigot-and-hub connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable plumbing code, such as the IPC or local adopted equivalent. Shut off any connected water supply and ensure the drain line is clear before cutting into an existing system. Lead-and-oakum or no-hub coupling methods may apply depending on the existing system configuration; verify the joining method before ordering. Support the fitting per code-required hanger spacing for cast iron pipe.
