The ABI FOUNDRY 2116 is a service weight cast iron combination wye and 1/8 bend fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. This long-turn combination fitting joins a wye with an integrated 1/8 bend, allowing branch connections while redirecting flow in a single unit. The 8-inch nominal size and spigot x hub x hub end configuration make it suitable for main drain lines in demanding residential and commercial installations. Rated for temperatures from 32 to 212 degrees F, this domestic-made fitting meets the durability requirements of service weight cast iron DWV applications.
This fitting is used in underground and above-grade cast iron DWV systems where an 8-inch branch takeoff with a directional change is required. Typical installation scenarios include main building drains, large-diameter soil stacks, and commercial plumbing rough-ins. The spigot inlet connects to a hub on an adjacent fitting, while the two hub outlets accept standard service weight cast iron pipe or fittings. It is installed by licensed plumbers working on new construction or major drain system retrofits.
Designed as an OEM-style service weight cast iron DWV fitting for 8-inch nominal diameter drain, waste, and vent piping systems using spigot and hub connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain system is depressurized and empty before beginning work. Hub connections on cast iron DWV fittings are typically joined using lead and oakum or no-hub couplings depending on the system specification. Do not modify the casting or apply excessive force during alignment, as cast iron is not ductile and may crack under stress.
