The ABI FOUNDRY 1614 is a 4-inch service weight cast iron wye fitting used in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It features a spigot x hub x hub end configuration, allowing it to connect into existing cast iron drain lines with a spigot inlet and two hub outlets. Cast iron construction provides long-term durability and noise dampening in gravity-flow drain systems. This fitting is manufactured domestically and is rated for temperatures from 32 degrees F to 212 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and renovation work on residential and commercial drain systems.
This wye fitting is suited for use in 4-inch DWV applications where a branch connection is required along a horizontal drain run or at a transition point in a vertical stack. The spigot x hub x hub configuration makes it compatible with standard service weight cast iron hub-and-spigot systems. It is commonly installed in below-grade, in-wall, or above-slab drainage configurations where cast iron is specified by code or preferred for its acoustic and durability characteristics.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch service weight cast iron hub-and-spigot DWV piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC or locally adopted equivalent. Shut off water supply and ensure the drain line is clear before cutting into existing piping. Joints should be made using appropriate lead-and-oakum or no-hub coupling methods per the end configuration and local code requirements. Do not use this fitting in pressurized supply lines.
