The ABB THT2 is a solid snap-on, trip-indicating handle tie designed to gang two single-pole THQP breakers into a two-pole switching configuration. It mounts directly onto 1/2-inch THQP breakers and provides coordinated manual on and off operation between the two devices. Electricians use this tie in panelboards where two THQP breakers are separated by two adjacent side-by-side THQP breakers. The trip-indicating design makes breaker status easy to read at a glance. This is a manual switching aid only and does not create an internal common trip — all multi-pole configurations requiring common trip protection require a true two-pole or multi-pole breaker.
The THT2 is intended for residential and light commercial panelboard installations where THQP breakers are used. It suits applications where two single-pole branch circuits must be manually switched together, such as 240-volt loads wired across two single-pole breakers. The specific installation scenario requires the two THQP breakers being tied to be separated by two additional side-by-side THQP breakers in the panel.
Designed for use with two single-pole 1/2-inch THQP breakers in configurations where those breakers are separated by two side-by-side THQP breakers within the panelboard.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before working inside the enclosure. The THT2 snaps directly onto the THQP breaker handles and does not substitute for a factory two-pole breaker where common trip is required by code. Confirm the panel layout matches the required breaker spacing before installing this handle tie.
