The ABB THQL1120 is a single-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker rated for 20 amps at 120/240 volts with a 10,000-amp interrupting capacity (10kA IC). It provides overcurrent and short-circuit protection in residential and light commercial electrical panels. The THQL1120 uses a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism that responds to both sustained overloads and instantaneous fault currents. Licensed electricians install this breaker during new panel construction, service upgrades, and branch circuit additions. Its compact single-pole form factor fits standard load center enclosures that accept the THQL breaker series.
The THQL1120 is suited for 120-volt branch circuits in residential load centers and small commercial distribution panels. Typical applications include general lighting circuits, receptacle circuits, and small appliance branch circuits where a 20-amp overcurrent device is required per NEC guidelines. The 10kA interrupting rating meets the fault-current requirements common to most residential utility service points.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation circuit breaker for load centers and panelboards accepting THQL-series single-pole breakers.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always de-energize the panel and verify the absence of voltage with a calibrated meter before handling any breaker or bus connection. Confirm the panel's available fault current does not exceed the breaker's 10kA interrupting rating prior to installation. Do not install this breaker in enclosures that are not rated or listed for the THQL series.
