The ABB THQL1115GFTS is a 1-pole, 15-amp GFCI circuit breaker rated for 120/240 volts and designed for use in load centers that require ground-fault circuit interrupter protection. It features a reduced neutral pigtail wire length of 2 inches, making it well-suited for installations where panel space is tight. The breaker carries an interrupting rating of 10kAIC and includes quick-make/quick-break mechanisms along with a trip indication flag that is easy to spot during inspection or troubleshooting. Licensed electricians install this device as part of NEC-compliant branch circuit protection in residential and light commercial applications.
This GFCI breaker is appropriate for branch circuits serving areas where ground-fault protection is required by the NEC, including outdoor receptacles, bathrooms, garages, and spa or hot tub locations. It applies to both new construction and retrofit projects in existing homes. When an existing receptacle in a GFCI-required location is replaced or a new circuit is added, installing a GFCI-type breaker such as the THQL1115GFTS satisfies code requirements at the panel level, protecting all outlets on that circuit without the need for individual GFCI receptacles.
Designed as a Q Line series GFCI circuit breaker; all Q Line breakers are 1 inch wide per pole. Verify load center compatibility with the panel manufacturer before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before handling any breaker or wiring. Connect the short neutral pigtail to the panel neutral bar and the load wire to the breaker load terminal per the wiring diagram supplied with the breaker. Do not bypass or defeat the GFCI test function — test the breaker after installation using the built-in Test and Reset buttons to confirm proper operation.
