The ABB THQD22150X2 is a 2-pole, 150-amp molded-case circuit breaker rated for 240 volts AC with a 22,000-amp interrupting capacity (22kAIC). It is configured as a line lug breaker, meaning incoming line conductors terminate directly at the breaker lugs rather than through a separate bussed connection. This style is commonly used in load centers, panelboards, and subpanel applications where the breaker serves as the main disconnect or a high-ampacity branch device. Licensed electricians install this breaker during new service work, panel upgrades, or subpanel feed installations.
This breaker is suited for residential and light commercial electrical distribution systems operating on single-phase 240-volt service. The line lug configuration makes it appropriate for use as a main breaker in a subpanel or for feeding large loads such as HVAC equipment, electric water heaters, or electric ranges. The 22kAIC interrupting rating meets the fault-current requirements found in most residential and light commercial service applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation circuit breaker for panelboards and load centers that accept THQD-series 2-pole molded-case breakers rated at 150 amps and 240 volts.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the upstream service entrance or feeder before handling any breaker connections. Ensure conductor sizing, torque requirements, and panel compatibility are verified per the panelboard manufacturer documentation and NEC Article 240. Do not exceed the breaker ampere rating with connected load.
