The ABB tg4324r is a fusible general duty safety switch rated for 200 amps at 240 VAC, designed for residential and light commercial electrical installations. Part of the TG Series, it features a 3-pole, 4-wire configuration with a quick-make, quick-break handle actuator mechanism. The switch carries a 100 kA short circuit current rating and is housed in a NEMA 3R enclosure, making it suitable for outdoor and weatherproof surface-mount applications. A licensed electrician installs this switch as part of a service entrance or disconnect assembly where a reliable, code-compliant shutoff is required.
This safety switch is rated for single-phase, 50/60 Hz service and supports 15 hp loads with standard fuses or time delay fuses. It is intended for residential and light commercial applications where duty conditions are not severe. The steel NEMA 3R enclosure suits installations exposed to rain, sleet, and external ice formation. The 60/75 degrees C conductor rating supports standard copper and aluminum wiring in typical service entrance configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style general duty fusible safety switch for residential and light commercial service entrance and disconnect applications per the TG Series product line. Meets or exceeds NEMA KS1 standards for enclosed switches type GD.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Verify that all upstream power sources are de-energized and locked out before beginning installation or servicing. The surface-mount NEMA 3R enclosure requires secure fastening to a structural surface capable of supporting the switch. Select fuses appropriate for the connected load in compliance with NEC Article 230 for service equipment applications.
