The ABB tg4323r is a fusible general-duty safety switch rated for 100 amps at 240 volts AC, designed for use in residential and light commercial electrical distribution applications. Part of the TG Series, this 3-pole, 4-wire switch features a quick-make, quick-break handle actuator mechanism and a NEMA 3R enclosure for outdoor or damp-location service. It carries a short circuit current rating of 100 kA and a horsepower rating of 7-1/2 hp with standard fuse or 15 hp with time-delay fuse. Licensed electricians install this switch as service equipment or feeder disconnect in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
This switch is suited for residential service entrances and light commercial feeder applications where general-duty performance is sufficient and severe industrial duty is not required. Surface mounting on a wall or equipment panel keeps installation straightforward. The 60/75 degrees C conductor rating supports use with both 60-degree and 75-degree rated wire. Single-phase, 50/60 Hz frequency compatibility makes it appropriate for standard North American utility service as well as facilities with variable-frequency supply.
Suitable for use as service equipment when installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Designed for residential and light commercial applications where general-duty enclosed switch performance is required. Fusible and non-fusible switch variants are available within the TG Series.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local codes. De-energize the upstream service conductors and verify absence of voltage before beginning any wiring work. Surface-mount the enclosure securely to a structural wall or panel using fasteners appropriate for the substrate. Conductor selection must comply with the 60/75 degrees C temperature rating of the terminals.
