The ABB tg4321r is a 30-amp, 3-pole, 4-wire general duty fusible safety switch rated for 240 volts AC and designed for outdoor installations in NEMA 3R enclosures. It provides a manual means of disconnecting power to motor loads and branch circuits, with a fusible design that adds overcurrent protection at the disconnect point. The switch accepts fuses and is suitable for single-phase or three-phase circuits up to 3 hp at 240 volts AC under NEC standard fusing, and up to 7.5 hp with time-delay fuses on a three-phase circuit. Licensed electricians install this switch as a service entrance disconnect, feeder disconnect, or equipment disconnect in residential and light commercial applications.
The tg4321r is suited for residential and light commercial installations where a weatherproof outdoor disconnect is required. The NEMA 3R enclosure protects internal components from rain, sleet, and external ice formation, making it appropriate for exterior-mounted disconnects serving HVAC equipment, pool equipment, agricultural loads, and similar applications. The four-wire configuration supports grounded systems. Wire range accepts 14 to 8 AWG copper or 12 to 8 AWG aluminum conductors, giving installers flexibility with common residential and light commercial wire gauges.
Designed as a general duty fusible safety switch for residential and light commercial disconnects requiring a NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure at 240 volts AC, 30 amps, 3-pole, 4-wire configuration.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the upstream circuit completely before wiring the switch, and verify absence of voltage with a meter before handling any conductors. The enclosure must be mounted and sealed per the manufacturer instructions to maintain the NEMA 3R rating. Fuse selection must match the load type and horsepower rating per NEC Article 430 for motor circuits.
