The ABB G9721/2 is a galvanized nipple fitting used in electrical conduit installations. It provides a threaded connection point for joining conduit sections or securing conduit to enclosures, junction boxes, and panels. The hot-dip or electro-galvanized steel construction resists corrosion in both indoor and outdoor service environments. Electricians reach for this type of fitting when building conduit runs that require a short threaded stub for transition or termination. The 1/2 inch trade size suits standard half-inch conduit systems commonly found throughout residential, commercial, and light industrial work.
This galvanized nipple is suited for use in branch circuit and feeder conduit assemblies where a 1/2 inch threaded connection is required. It is installed at conduit entry points on enclosures, meter bases, panel boards, and similar electrical equipment. The galvanized finish makes it appropriate for damp locations and exposed outdoor installations where bare steel fittings would be prone to early corrosion failure.
Designed as a standard threaded nipple replacement for 1/2 inch conduit systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations.
Installation of conduit fittings should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before beginning work. Use appropriate pipe wrenches or conduit tools to achieve a secure threaded engagement without over-tightening, which can damage threads. Inspect threads on both the nipple and the mating fitting or enclosure knockout before assembly.
