The ABB b9141/2 is a square channel nut designed for use with strut channel framing systems in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing support applications. Constructed from steel with a Galv-Krom finish, this nut provides corrosion resistance that outperforms standard galvanized coatings. It features a 1/2-13 thread size, measures 0.375 inches in height and 1.25 inches in width, and is sized to slide and lock into standard channel profiles. Electricians, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors rely on this hardware for building support structures, conduit hangers, and equipment mounting frames.
This channel nut is suited for use in both commercial and industrial construction environments where strut channel framing is standard. It installs directly into open-slotted channel sections, allowing repositioning before final torque. The Galv-Krom finish makes it appropriate for interior and semi-exposed applications where mild corrosion resistance is required. The 1/2-13 thread accepts standard hex bolts and threaded rod used in typical strut assembly work.
Designed for use with all Kindorf strut channels. Fits standard open-slotted channel profiles accepting 1/2-13 threaded fasteners.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or mechanical contractors as part of strut framing assemblies. Before servicing or modifying an existing support structure, de-energize any nearby electrical equipment per NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. Slide the nut into the channel slot at the desired position, then engage the bolt or threaded rod and snug before final tightening. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the channel flanges.
