The ABB 2B10X is a one-piece, two-bolt copper connector designed for splicing and tapping aluminum or copper conductors without a spacer. Built for direct-burial and above-grade electrical installations, this clamp-style fitting accepts a main wire range of 2 AWG through 1/0 stranded and a tap range of 10 AWG solid through 1/0 stranded. The 1/2-inch bolt size provides secure mechanical clamping pressure across the full wire range. Electricians reach for this connector when making reliable, low-resistance conductor joints in service entrance work, distribution panels, and similar branch-circuit applications.
The 2B10X suits residential and light commercial electrical work where a compact, one-piece connector is preferred over two-piece assemblies that require a separate spacer. Typical applications include main-to-tap splices in meter bases, load centers, and junction boxes. The copper construction makes it appropriate for use with copper conductors throughout the specified range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard connector for electrical installations requiring a two-bolt copper clamp connector within the 2 AWG to 1/0 stranded main and 10 AWG solid to 1/0 stranded tap wire range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for mechanical connectors. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any conductor connection. Use an appropriately sized torque wrench or driver on the 1/2-inch bolts to achieve proper mechanical contact without over-stressing the conductor. Inspect conductor ends for nicks or corrosion before seating in the connector.
