The A.Y. MCDONALD 5426-025 is a 3/4-inch push-on removable female adapter designed for CTS (Copper Tube Size) to female pipe thread (FPT) connections in water supply and distribution systems. Constructed from brass, this fitting accepts a 3/4-inch CTS tube on one end and connects to a 3/4-inch female pipe thread on the other. The push-on design allows for fast, tool-free tube insertion, while the removable feature enables disconnection with a release tool when service or modification is needed. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter in both residential and light commercial applications where reliable, leak-free transitions between CTS tubing and threaded pipe are required.
This adapter is well-suited for potable water supply lines, residential plumbing rough-in, and retrofit installations where speed of assembly is a priority. The push-on connection mechanism is compatible with standard CTS copper, CPVC, and PEX tubing at the 3/4-inch size. It is commonly installed at fixture supply connections, water heater inlets, and distribution manifold outlets where a threaded port must interface with a flexible or rigid CTS run.
Designed as an OEM-style push-on fitting for 3/4-inch CTS tubing terminating at a 3/4-inch female pipe thread port in standard residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connection. Ensure the tube end is cut square, deburred, and fully inserted to the depth mark before pressurizing. Use a manufacturer-approved disconnect clip or release tool to remove the tube — do not pull the tube without depressing the release collar, as this can damage the fitting body and void the seal.
