The A.Y. MCDONALD 5426-017 is a brass CTS push-on removable tee fitting designed for copper tube size (CTS) plumbing connections. It joins a 3/4-inch run line to a 1/2-inch branch outlet without soldering, crimping, or special tooling. The push-on connection mechanism allows for fast installation and, critically, the fitting is removable — making it suitable for applications where future service access or reconfiguration is anticipated. Licensed plumbers and experienced trades-people install this fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution systems.
This fitting is used in CTS plumbing systems where a quick, tool-free tee connection is needed between 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch copper or compatible flexible tubing lines. The removable design makes it practical in retrofit and repair scenarios where cutting into existing copper runs is necessary and access is limited. It is commonly installed in potable water supply lines, hydronic branch circuits, and similar pressurized water distribution applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit tee for residential and light commercial CTS plumbing systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch copper or compatible tubing.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line or removing the fitting. Ensure tube ends are cut square, deburred, and clean before inserting into the push-on connection to achieve a proper seal. To remove the fitting, use the appropriate push-on release tool or collar to disengage the locking mechanism without damaging the tubing.
