The 3M SCOTCH-WELD 7100039236 is a medium-strength, purple liquid threadlocker designed to secure threaded fasteners and prevent loosening caused by vibration and shock. Part of the TL90 series, this anaerobic adhesive is applied as a liquid directly to fastener threads before assembly. It is suited for use on fasteners up to 1 inch in diameter and delivers a breakaway torque range of 60 to 190 lb./inch. With a fixture time of 20 minutes and a full cure time of 24 hours, it fits standard maintenance and repair workflows. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general maintenance professionals will find this threadlocker reliable for securing bolts, screws, and fittings in a range of service environments.
This threadlocker is used across residential and commercial applications wherever threaded connections require a removable yet vibration-resistant bond. The medium-strength formula allows removal with standard hand tools after curing, making it appropriate for components that may require periodic servicing or adjustment. Typical applications include fasteners on mechanical equipment, pump assemblies, electrical enclosures, and HVAC equipment. It performs across a wide temperature range, from -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it suitable for installations exposed to thermal cycling.
Designed for use on threaded metal fasteners up to 1 inch in diameter. Suitable for bolts, screws, and studs in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical applications where a medium-strength, removable threadlocking compound is required.
Clean and degrease fastener threads before applying the threadlocker to ensure proper adhesion and cure. Apply a small, consistent bead of liquid to the threads and assemble the fastener within the 5-minute working time window. Allow a minimum of 20 minutes fixture time before handling and 24 hours for full cure before applying load. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling anaerobic adhesives, and ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.
