The 3M MMM2097 is a P100-rated particulate filter with activated carbon layers, designed to provide nuisance-level relief from organic vapors present below the permissible exposure limit (PEL). It achieves 99.97% filtration efficiency against both oil-based and non-oil-based particulates, meeting P100 classification requirements. The filter mounts via bayonet connection to compatible 3M half and full facepieces. It is intended for use by industrial workers, welders, and trade professionals operating in environments with airborne particulate hazards and low-level organic vapor exposure. The MMM2097 is suited for a wide range of industrial and trade applications including welding, metal pouring, torch cutting, brazing, and soldering. When used with a half facepiece, the filter provides protection up to 10 times the PEL. With a full facepiece, protection extends to 50 times the PEL. This filter is not approved for use in immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) environments.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified respirator user who has completed a site-specific respirator fit-test and training program per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requirements. Power down or shut off any process equipment before entering the work area when performing filter changes. Inspect each filter for damage or deformation before mounting, and discard any filter that shows signs of physical compromise. Filters must be replaced when breathing resistance increases noticeably, when odor or taste is detected, or per the site respiratory protection program schedule.
