The 3M IT1.500BK9IN-L is a heavy-wall, heat shrink cable sleeve designed for insulating, protecting, and sealing electrical cables rated up to 600 volts. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin with a 3:1 shrink ratio, it delivers a rugged, moisture-resistant seal over a wide range of cable diameters. The minimum expanded diameter is 1.5 inches and the maximum recovered diameter is 0.5 inches, making it suitable for cable outer diameters ranging from 0.6 to 1.19 inches. The sleeve length is 9 inches. Licensed electricians and utility technicians install this sleeve during cable splicing, sheath repair, and service relocation work where durable environmental protection is required.
This sleeve is rated for indoor, outdoor, and overhead use. Common applications include insulating secondary splices, dig-in repairs, sheath repairs, and service relocation. The operating temperature range of -67 to 230 degrees F and UV-resistant polyolefin construction make it appropriate for direct exposure environments. It accepts cable sizes from 3/0 AWG to 400 KCMIL. Each case contains 50 pieces, supporting multi-joint repair jobs or stocking for service vehicles. The sleeve meets UL 486-D and CSA approvals and is RoHS compliant.

Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any splice or sheath repair work. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to prevent air entrapment. Do not exceed the rated shrink temperature of 250 degrees F during application.
