The 3M IT1.100BK48IN-L is a heavy-wall, adhesive-lined heat shrink cable sleeve engineered for high-integrity insulation and protection of electrical cables rated up to 600 volts. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin with a 3:1 shrink ratio, it delivers a tight, reliable seal over a minimum expanded diameter of 1.1 inches, recovering to a maximum diameter of 0.37 inches. At 48 inches in length, each sleeve provides substantial coverage for splices, sheath repairs, and service relocations. Licensed electricians and utility lineworkers install this sleeve where durable, weather-resistant insulation is required on medium-voltage secondary conductors.
Rated for use across a temperature range of -55 to 110 degrees C and approved to UL 486-D and CSA standards, this sleeve is suitable for indoor, outdoor, and overhead installations. Typical applications include insulating secondary splices, dig-in repairs, sheath repairs, and service relocation work on cable sizes ranging from 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG. Its UV resistance and chemical resilience make it appropriate for direct exposure environments. The sleeve is RoHS compliant and manufactured in the United States. Each case contains 20 pieces.
Designed for use with cable sizes from 2 AWG to 4/0 AWG with outer diameters between 0.4 and 0.88 inches. Suitable for indoor, outdoor, overhead, secondary splice, sheath repair, dig-in repair, and service relocation applications at voltage ratings up to 600 volts.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying the sleeve. Apply uniform heat with a calibrated heat gun, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air and ensure full adhesive activation. Do not use an open flame, as uneven heat can cause incomplete shrink or damage the sleeve material.
