The 3M FP0.188BK6IN-P is a thin-wall, flexible polyolefin heat shrink tubing from the FP-301 series, designed for wire and cable insulation, bundling, and environmental protection in electrical installations. It features a 2:1 shrink ratio, a minimum expanded diameter of 0.187 inches, and a maximum recovered diameter of 0.093 inches. Rated at 600 volts and approved by UL and CSA, this tubing handles temperatures from -55 to 135 degrees C, making it suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial wiring environments. Each piece is 6 inches in length with a 0.02-inch wall thickness. Electricians and electronics technicians use this tubing for wire terminations, splices, and connector protection.
This heat shrink tubing is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever insulation, color-coding, or mechanical protection is needed on conductors, terminals, and splices. It is particularly well suited for panel wiring, control wiring, and field terminations where a clean, durable sleeve is required. The flexible polyolefin construction recovers evenly over irregular profiles and maintains performance across the full rated temperature range. This item is sold as a pack of 10 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use heat shrink sleeving for electrical wiring applications requiring a 3/16-inch nominal, thin-wall polyolefin tube rated at 600 volts.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or qualified electrical technicians. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or terminal. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun set to an appropriate temperature for polyolefin material, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air. Do not use an open flame, as uneven heat can damage the tubing or underlying insulation.
