The 3M FP0.125BK6IN-P is a thin-wall flexible polyolefin heat shrink tubing from the 3M FP-301 series, designed for electrical insulation, bundling, and environmental protection of wire and cable terminations. It carries a 600-volt rating and operates across a temperature range of -55 to 135 degrees C, making it suitable for demanding industrial and military wiring applications. The tubing shrinks at 212 degrees F with a 2:1 shrink ratio, contracting from a minimum expanded diameter of 0.125 inches down to a maximum recovered diameter of 0.062 inches. Wall thickness measures 0.02 inches. Each pack contains 10 pieces cut to 6 inches in length. Licensed electricians and electronics technicians are the primary installers.
This tubing is used in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring projects where a reliable, low-profile insulating sleeve is required. Typical applications include wire splices, terminal insulation, cable identification, and harness protection in control panels, junction boxes, and equipment wiring. The flexible polyolefin construction resists moisture, chemicals, and abrasion, making it appropriate for both indoor and outdoor electrical installations. It is compliant with RoHS requirements and carries UL and CSA approvals, supporting use in regulated environments and OEM assembly work.
Designed as an OEM-style and field-service heat shrink sleeve for wire and cable insulation applications requiring a 0.125-inch expanded diameter thin-wall tubing at 600 volts.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or electronics technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits completely before applying heat shrink tubing to any wire or termination. Use a heat gun set to an appropriate temperature to shrink the tubing uniformly from one end to the other, avoiding direct flame sources that can cause uneven shrinkage or damage to the tubing or adjacent components. Ensure the conductor and termination are clean and dry before sleeving.
