The 3M Interam Endothermic Mat E-5A-4 is a heat-absorbing wrap system designed to provide excellent fire resistance for structural steel and critical electrical components. It measures twenty-four and a half inches in width, twenty feet in length, and is four-tenths of an inch thick. When exposed to extreme heat, the mat releases chemically-bound water to cool its outer surfaces, thus protecting the materials underneath.
