The 3M COMPANY 7732 is a heavy-duty anti-slip safety walk tread designed to reduce slip-and-fall hazards on steps, ramps, platforms, and other high-traffic surfaces. It comes in a 2-inch wide by 60-foot roll in black and features a strong pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for secure, tool-free application to most hard surfaces. The aggressive textured surface provides reliable traction underfoot in both wet and dry conditions. This tread is built to resist cracking and peeling over time, making it suitable for demanding industrial, commercial, and residential service environments. Maintenance crews, safety contractors, and facilities professionals are the primary installers.
The 7732 is suited for use on metal stairs, concrete steps, loading docks, scaffolding, ladders, and equipment access platforms. Its 2-inch width makes it a practical choice for stair nosings, narrow walkways, and ladder rungs where a full-width tread strip is needed. The black finish blends into most industrial and commercial settings. The roll format allows installers to cut sections to the exact length required for each application, reducing waste on jobs with varied step counts or surface lengths.
Designed for application on clean, dry, hard surfaces including metal, concrete, wood, and fiberglass commonly found on stairs, ramps, platforms, and access ladders in industrial and commercial settings.
Surface must be clean, dry, and free of oil, dust, and loose material before applying the tread. Cut sections to length using a utility knife and straightedge, then peel the liner and press the adhesive side firmly onto the surface, working from one end to the other to avoid air pockets. Allow the adhesive to fully bond before the surface is put back into service. Installation in temperatures below manufacturer-recommended application ranges may reduce initial adhesion.
