The 3M 8301042 is a complete confined space entry and retrieval system that combines a tripod, a Salalift II winch, and a 3-way self-retracting lifeline (SRL) into a single integrated kit. The system supports a maximum weight capacity of 350 pounds and uses a 60-foot stainless steel cable lifeline for durability in wet, corrosive, and abrasive environments. The carabiner and hook components are zinc plated steel. This system is used by safety professionals, confined space entry teams, and industrial contractors who require OSHA-compliant vertical entry, descent, and retrieval capability over manholes, tanks, vaults, and similar below-grade spaces.
This confined space system is suited for industrial, municipal, and commercial applications where personnel must enter permit-required confined spaces. The tripod provides a stable overhead anchor point while the Salalift II winch enables controlled lowering and raising of an entrant. The 3-way SRL adds fall arrest, retrieval, and work positioning functions in a single device. Typical deployment scenarios include wastewater vaults, utility manholes, storage tanks, and process vessels requiring regular inspection or maintenance.
Designed as a complete OEM-configured confined space entry and retrieval system intended for use with standard tripod-based confined space rescue and entry setups requiring a 60-foot lifeline capacity and 350-pound rated load.
Setup and operation should be performed by trained, competent persons in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 permit-required confined space regulations and applicable ANSI Z359 fall protection standards. Before deploying the tripod, verify the anchor surface is stable, level, and capable of supporting the system loads. Inspect all lifeline, carabiner, and winch components for damage or wear before each use and remove any component from service that shows signs of corrosion, deformation, or impact loading. Always follow the manufacturer documentation for assembly sequence and load-limit guidance.
