The 3M 7100364638 is a double-sided acrylic foam tape engineered for high-strength bonding in demanding industrial and commercial applications. Known under the VHB tape family, this gray tape measures 1 inch wide by 36 yards long with a 25 mil thickness and ships with a film liner. The acrylic foam construction provides conformable, durable adhesion to metals, plastics, composites, and other substrates. It is designed to replace mechanical fasteners, certain forms of welding, and liquid adhesives where clean bond lines, weight reduction, or design flexibility are priorities. Installation is typically performed by fabricators, industrial maintenance technicians, glazing contractors, and trade professionals working with assemblies that require a permanent, load-bearing bond.
This tape is suited for use in industrial manufacturing, building and construction panels, sign assembly, automotive trim bonding, and HVAC enclosure fabrication. The 1-inch width allows precise placement along narrow bond lines where mechanical fasteners would be impractical. With an overlap shear strength of up to 470 psi, the tape maintains bond integrity under sustained static loads and environmental stress. Each case contains 9 rolls, making it practical for job-site stocking or shop inventory. The gray color and film liner aid in alignment and handling during application.
Designed for bonding to metals, high-surface-energy plastics, composites, glass, and coated substrates in industrial, construction, and trade applications where a conformable double-sided foam tape is specified. Surface preparation is critical for maximum bond strength — clean substrates thoroughly and allow to dry before application. Allow adequate dwell time at temperature before subjecting the bond to full load, per standard adhesive bonding practice.
