The 3M 7100323507 is a Sealed-Block Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) engineered for fall protection in extreme environmental conditions. A patented sealed design isolates critical internal components, including the motor spring and brake, from grease, moisture, dirt, and high-pressure water ingress. The unit carries an IP-69K ingress protection rating, making it suitable for wash-down environments and heavy outdoor exposure. An integrated centrifugal energy absorption system activates automatically upon fall detection, arresting the fall and reducing forces imposed on the user to safe levels. Licensed fall protection technicians and confined-space entry professionals are the primary installers of this equipment.
This SRL is designed for confined space entry, rescue operations, and overhead fall arrest applications across industrial, construction, and utility work environments. It is available in Overhead, Retrieval, and RSQ/Rescue configurations to match specific job-site requirements. The lifeline extends as the worker moves away from the anchor point and retracts automatically, allowing normal movement within the designated working radius. The emergency retrieval function, available on select configurations, enables rescuers to raise an incapacitated worker to safety without additional mechanical advantage equipment.
Available in multiple configurations including Overhead, Retrieval, and RSQ/Rescue SRL setups. Compatible with standard anchorage connector systems used in confined-space and elevated work-site fall protection programs. Verify anchorage load ratings and system configuration requirements before installation.
Installation must be performed by a competent person qualified in fall protection systems per applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 standards. Inspect the anchorage point for adequate rated load capacity before attaching the SRL. Do not use the unit if the impact indicator has been activated — remove from service and perform a full inspection. Confirm the correct SRL configuration (Overhead, Retrieval, or Rescue) is selected for the intended application before putting the unit in service.
