The 3M 7100322227 is an orange foam buffing pad with a hook-and-loop attachment system designed for final and extra-fine finishing steps on automotive OEM clear coats, lacquered wood, gelcoat, powder coat, and similar coated surfaces. Measuring 3.25 inches in diameter and sold individually, this closed-cell foam pad works in conjunction with compatible polishes to remove fine sand scratches, swirl marks, and surface marring. The hook-and-loop backing allows fast mounting and removal from a compatible backup disc pad used on rotary or random orbital tools. Foam construction is less aggressive than wool pads and generally operates at higher RPMs.
This pad is suited for automotive body technicians, marine refinishers, aerospace coating professionals, and industrial finishing trades performing final polish steps on OEM and baked refinish paints. It is designed for use with Finesse-it polishes formulated to achieve satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finishes. The pad can also be used within the Finesse-it Trizact Paint Repair System for OEM paint and clear coat applications. It is compatible with both rotary and random orbital polishing tools when paired with a hook-and-loop backup disc pad sold separately.
Designed for use with Finesse-it polishes and the Finesse-it Trizact Paint Repair System on OEM paint and clear coats, lacquered wood, solid surfaces, gelcoat, powder coat, industrial paint, acrylic, and glass. Requires a hook-and-loop backup disc pad sold separately for use with rotary or random orbital tools.
Automotive body technicians and surface finishing professionals install this pad by pressing the foam loop backing firmly onto a compatible hook-and-loop backup disc pad mounted to a rotary or random orbital tool. Ensure the backup disc pad and tool are powered off before attaching or removing the buffing pad. Do not exceed the tool RPM range appropriate for foam pads, and inspect the pad for wear or contamination before each use.
