The 3M 7100313191 Cubitrona 3 Cut-Off Wheel is a 7-inch abrasive wheel engineered for fast, aggressive cutting across a wide range of metals and alloys. Built with 3M Re-Engineered Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, the wheel uses sharp, angular grain structures that fracture continuously to expose fresh cutting edges, reducing heat buildup and extending wheel life. At 0.09 inches thick and rated 36+ grit, it is designed for high-speed angle grinders and cut-off tools used in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial service environments. Fabricators, welders, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this wheel.
This cut-off wheel is suited for perpendicular cuts on metal stock using the outer edge of the wheel. It handles stainless steel, mild steel, aerospace alloys, autobody and marine sheet metal, exhaust pipes, stainless tubing, clamps, and rusted fasteners. The 7-inch diameter is common in both shop and field applications where a standard angle grinder is the primary tool. The wheel delivers up to 10% faster cut rate compared to the Cubitrona II Performance Abrasives line and removes up to 3x more material per wheel, reducing changeover frequency during production runs or heavy repair work.
Designed for use on angle grinders and cut-off tools accepting 7-inch abrasive wheels. Suitable for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aerospace alloys, and sheet metal in fabrication and maintenance applications.
Mounting and removal of cut-off wheels must be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's guard and flange requirements. Always power down and disconnect the tool before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the wheel. Eye protection, face shield, and appropriate PPE are required during operation per ANSI B7.1 and applicable safety standards.
