The 3M 7100313189 Cubitrona 3 Cut-Off Wheel is a 7-inch diameter abrasive wheel built for fast, clean cuts through metal and alloy materials. It uses 3M Re-Engineered Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a molecular-bonding technology that produces sharp, angular structures. These structures fracture continuously during use to maintain sharp cutting points, distribute heat evenly, and extend wheel life. At 0.09 inches thick and rated at 60 plus grit, this wheel is suited for professionals who cut frequently and cannot afford slow material removal or frequent changeovers. Fabricators, auto body technicians, pipefitters, and marine tradespeople are the primary users.
This wheel is designed for perpendicular cuts using the outer edge. Typical applications include cutting stainless steel tubing, exhaust pipes, autobody and marine sheet metal, clamps, and rusted fasteners. It also performs on mild steel and aerospace-grade alloys. The wheel ships in a box of 2 units, appropriate for job sites where consistent performance across multiple cuts is required. It delivers up to 10 percent faster cut rate compared to the Cubitrona II Performance Abrasives line and removes up to 3 times more material per wheel life.
Designed for use on angle grinders and cut-off tools that accept 7-inch diameter wheels. Suitable for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aerospace alloys, autobody and marine sheet metal, exhaust pipes, clamps, and rusted fasteners.
Installation and wheel changes must be performed by a qualified operator following the tool and wheel manufacturer safety guidelines. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate above the rated RPM marked on the wheel. Eye protection, face shield, and appropriate PPE are required during operation per ANSI and OSHA general industry standards.
