The 3M 7100310728 is a Cubitron 3 Fibre Disc in the 1182C series, engineered for heavy-duty grinding, weld removal, and beveling on mild and carbon steels. It measures 5 inches in diameter and carries a 36+ grit designation. The disc uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, which features sharp, angular mineral structures that fracture continuously to maintain fresh cutting points throughout the disc life. The result is a lower grinding pressure requirement, reduced heat buildup, and more consistent cut rates compared to conventional abrasive fibre discs. It is compatible with a TN Quick Change Die 500P attachment system and is packaged 100 discs per box.
This disc is suited for fabrication shops, maintenance welding operations, and metal finishing environments where sustained cut rate and disc longevity matter. Applications include medium to high-pressure angle grinding, weld bead removal, and edge beveling on mild steel and carbon steel workpieces. The open-coat construction and stiff fibre backing make it appropriate for both manual and robotic grinding operations. The 36+ grit is a coarse designation intended for aggressive stock removal rather than finishing passes.
Designed for use with TN Quick Change Die 500P grinders. Suitable for grinding, weld removal, and beveling on mild steel and carbon steel. Verify spindle speed and arbor compatibility with your angle grinder before installation.
Fibre discs of this type are installed and serviced by metal fabricators and maintenance welders using angle grinders. Before mounting, power down and unplug or lock out the grinder per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm the grinder's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc rating before operation. Do not force or bend the disc during mounting, and inspect for damage before each use.
