The 3M 7100304011 Cubitrona 3 Cut-Off Wheel is a 5-inch diameter abrasive wheel built for fast, aggressive cutting across a wide range of metals. It uses 3M Re-Engineered Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain — a molecular-bonded mineral with sharp, angular structures that continuously fracture to expose fresh cutting edges. This keeps the wheel running cool and wearing evenly throughout its service life. At 0.09 inches thick and rated at 36-plus grit, this wheel is designed for perpendicular cuts using the outer edge. Fabricators, pipefitters, auto body technicians, and marine service professionals rely on wheels like this for high-volume metal cutting tasks where downtime from frequent wheel changes is a real cost.
This cut-off wheel is suited for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, exhaust tubing, clamps, rusted fasteners, autobody sheet metal, marine sheet metal, and aerospace alloys. It performs on angle grinders in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service applications. The 0.09-inch kerf width minimizes material loss on precision cuts. With up to 10 percent higher cut rate and up to 3 times the material removal compared to the Cubitrona II series, this wheel extends grinding intervals and reduces the number of changeovers per job.
Designed for use on standard angle grinders accepting 5-inch cut-off wheels. Suitable for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, aerospace alloys, autobody and marine sheet metal, exhaust pipes, clamps, and rusted fasteners.
Mount to a compatible angle grinder per the tool manufacturer's specified arbor size and maximum RPM rating — never exceed the wheel's rated speed. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and discard any damaged wheel. Always wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection when operating cut-off wheels. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.243 guidelines for abrasive wheel use.
