The 3M 7100272826 is a ceramic-coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive material removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. Part of the 767F series, it measures 0.5 inches wide by 18 inches long and carries an 80-grit medium-grade cutting surface. The ceramic abrasive grain is bonded to a YF-weight polyester cloth backing with an open coat density, allowing debris to clear efficiently and reducing loading during extended use. This belt supports both wet and dry operation, giving technicians flexibility depending on the application. It is installed on narrow belt sanders and file belt tools used in fabrication, finishing, and deburring work.
This belt is suited for use in metal fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and general industrial finishing applications. The 0.5-inch width fits standard narrow belt sander and file belt attachments commonly used for contour grinding, weld blending, and edge deburring on pipe, structural steel, and sheet metal. The 767F series is engineered for tasks where consistent cut rate and belt longevity matter across repetitive passes. Both wet and dry operation are supported, making it adaptable to coolant-assisted grinding setups as well as dry bench work.
Designed for use with narrow belt sanders and file belt tools that accept a 0.5-inch by 18-inch abrasive belt. Confirm drive roller and platen dimensions on the host tool before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified operators or maintenance technicians familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Before changing the belt, power down and unplug or lock out the tool per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm belt tracking alignment after installation and run the tool briefly at no-load speed before applying it to the workpiece. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination before each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
