The 3M 7100254441 is a 2-inch Roloc-style durable edge abrasive disc using 984F Precision-Shaped Grain (PSG) technology at 120-plus grit on a YF-weight backing. The PSG geometry maintains sharp cutting points that remove material quickly with reduced applied pressure compared to conventional abrasive grains. The disc body incorporates a grinding aid that limits heat buildup at the workpiece surface, making it well suited for heat-sensitive alloys including stainless steel, cobalt chrome, and nickel alloys. A 2-ply construction adds lateral stiffness for consistent edge grinding. Licensed fabricators, weld prep technicians, and aerospace metal finishers are the primary users.
This disc is designed for medium to high pressure grinding in applications where a small-diameter disc is required. Common uses include edge blending, weld seam grinding, and precision stock removal on stainless steel and nickel-based alloys in fabrication, aerospace, and medical device manufacturing environments. The Roloc quick-change attachment system lets technicians swap grades or disc types without tools, reducing changeover time when working across multiple grit sequences. The 200-disc case quantity suits production shops with high disc consumption rates.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders accepting the TR quick-change mandrel system. Die designation R150S applies to this disc configuration.
Installation requires a Roloc-compatible mandrel seated in a right-angle or straight die grinder. Ensure the grinder is disconnected from its power or air supply before mounting or removing a disc. Verify the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc speed rating before operation. Eye protection, a face shield, and appropriate respiratory protection should be worn in accordance with applicable workplace safety standards.
