The 3M 7100224760 is a flexible diamond abrasive disc designed for heavy-duty material removal on hard-to-grind surfaces. Built on a QRS hook-and-loop backing for fast disc changes, it uses a metal-plated bond to securely anchor micron-graded diamonds across a Pattern 18 layout. The M74 micron diamond specification delivers a controlled cut rate while producing a finer surface finish than conventional abrasive discs. Measuring 7 inches in diameter with a 1-inch profile, it is suited for use with compatible right-angle grinders and disc sanders used by fabricators, tile setters, stoneworkers, and composite material technicians.
This disc is engineered for demanding applications involving stone, glass, ceramic, metal, carbide, and composite materials. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured or irregular surfaces, making it a practical choice for grinding and finishing work where rigid discs would leave uneven results. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both shop and field use where consistent diamond abrasive performance is required across multiple material types.
Designed for use with right-angle grinders and random orbital sanders fitted with a QRS hook-and-loop interface. Suitable for grinding and finishing applications on stone, glass, ceramic, metal, carbide, and composite materials.
Installation is performed by pressing the QRS hook-and-loop backing firmly onto a compatible backing pad until fully seated. Ensure the grinder or sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the backing pad for wear or debris before attachment, as a compromised pad surface reduces disc retention and can create a safety hazard during operation. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA guidelines for abrasive wheel use, including proper RPM rating verification.
