The 3M 7100224738 is a flexible diamond abrasive cloth disc engineered for heavy-duty material removal on hard-to-grind surfaces. Built on a QRS hook-and-loop backing, it measures 7 inches in diameter with a 1-inch pile height and carries a M125 micron grade designation. A metal-plated bond system anchors micron-graded diamond abrasive particles directly to the cloth substrate, securing consistent cut performance across demanding applications. The result is a disc that delivers a refined finish without sacrificing cut rates, making it a practical choice for technicians and fabricators who work with materials that defeat conventional abrasives.
This disc is suited for grinding, lapping, and finishing operations on stone, glass, ceramic, metal, carbide, and composite materials. The flexible cloth construction conforms to curved or irregular workpiece surfaces, reducing gouging on contoured parts. The QRS hook-and-loop attachment system allows rapid disc changes on compatible backup pads, which supports high-throughput workflows in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service applications where downtime between disc changes must be minimized.
Designed for use with QRS hook-and-loop compatible backup pads rated for flexible diamond abrasive cloth discs at 7 inches diameter. Suitable for grinding and finishing applications on stone, glass, ceramic, metal, carbide, and composite workpieces.
This disc is installed and replaced by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a compatible QRS backup pad — confirm the backup pad diameter and hook-and-loop rating before mounting. Power down and de-energize any grinder or sander completely before changing discs. Inspect the hook-and-loop interface on both the disc and backup pad for contamination or wear that could cause the disc to release during operation. Follow the grinder manufacturer's maximum RPM rating and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive wheel standards for safe operation.
