The 3M 7100192089 is the Cubitron II 784F abrasive belt, engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, a proprietary blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals that delivers faster, more consistent stock removal than conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. At 80 grit, this belt handles aggressive material removal while maintaining a controlled finish. The YF-weight polyester backing provides moderate flexibility, conforming to both flat and contoured workpieces. A durable resin bond resists heat-induced deterioration, and an integrated grinding aid keeps abrasive temperatures down on heat-sensitive alloys. Licensed trade fabricators, weld grinders, and metal finishers are the primary installers of this product.
This belt is designed for use on all metals in both wet and dry grinding and blending applications. It fits robotic and pressure-assisted grinding systems as well as manual belt grinders requiring a 60 inch by 8 inch belt. At 80 grit, it is well suited to weld blending, surface preparation, and general stock removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys. The waterproof backing allows continuous wet grinding without backing degradation. The Precision-Shaped Grain blend sustains cut rate over the belt life, reducing changeout frequency and downtime in high-cycle production environments.
Designed for use on belt grinders and robotic grinding systems accepting a 60 inch by 8 inch abrasive belt. Suitable for grinding and blending all metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum alloys in wet or dry conditions.
Installation is performed by qualified metal fabricators or grinding equipment operators. Before mounting, power down and lockout the belt grinder per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking alignment and tension per the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear that could cause uneven belt loading.
