The 3M 7100191871 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt designed for precision detail work on metal surfaces. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive mineral and resin bond over a scrim backing, this belt delivers consistent surface conditioning results across a wide range of finishing operations. At 24 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, it fits narrow-contact and detail-belt tools commonly used in fabrication and finishing shops. The open web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, extending usable belt life and maintaining finish consistency throughout the run.
This belt is suited for both residential shop and industrial fabrication environments where controlled surface finishing on metal is required. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and producing straightline-brushed finishes. The belt conforms well to complex-shaped parts, making it appropriate for robotic processing lines as well as hand-guided belt finishing tools. Metal fabricators, weld finishers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit consumable for narrow-contact belt finishing tools and detail sanders that accept 24-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified fabrication or maintenance personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the tool. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and replace immediately if wear or separation is detected.
