The 3M 7100191572 is a Cubitron II 784F abrasive cloth belt designed for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It measures 60 inches long by 6 inches wide and cuts at 80 grit. The belt uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, a proprietary blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals. This combination delivers a faster, more consistent cut and significantly longer service life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. A durable resin bond resists heat-related deterioration, and a grinding aid cools the abrasive zone during work on heat-sensitive alloys. Metal fabricators, weld blenders, and robotic finishing cell operators are the primary installers and users of this belt.
This belt is suited for grinding and blending operations on all metals in both wet and dry environments. The moderately flexible YF-weight polyester backing conforms to straight and contoured workpiece profiles, making it effective for both flat stock and complex geometry. It is commonly used in pressure-assisted and robotic abrasive applications where consistent cut rate and reduced changeout frequency directly affect throughput. It performs on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys in fabrication, manufacturing, and maintenance environments.
Designed for use on standard belt grinders and robotic or pressure-assisted grinding systems that accept 60 inch by 6 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for grinding and blending on all metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum alloys.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified metal fabricators or maintenance technicians following the belt grinder manufacturer's tracking and tensioning procedures. Power down and de-energize the grinder completely before mounting or removing any abrasive belt. Confirm belt travel direction matches the arrow marked on the belt backing before starting the machine. Inspect the contact wheel, platen, and drive components for wear or damage prior to installing a new belt.
