The 3M 7100191570 is the Cubitron II 784F cloth abrasive belt, engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It measures 42 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, with an 80 grit rating. The belt uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, a proprietary blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals, to deliver faster stock removal and longer belt life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. A durable resin bond resists heat-induced deterioration, and the waterproof YF-weight polyester backing supports both wet and dry use. Suitable for straight and contoured surface work in production grinding environments.
This belt is designed for metalworking applications where consistent cut rate and extended service life are priorities. The grinding aid built into the abrasive layer cools the cutting zone during contact, making it appropriate for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel-based materials. It performs reliably in robotic, pressure-assisted, and manual belt grinding setups. Fabricators, weld blenders, and metal finishing technicians working in industrial and job shop environments are the primary installers and end users of this belt.
Designed for use on all metals in medium-pressure belt grinding and blending applications; compatible with standard belt grinders and robotic grinding systems accepting 42-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts.
Installation should be performed by qualified metalworking or maintenance personnel following the belt grinder manufacturer's guidelines for belt tensioning and tracking. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before changing the belt. Verify belt travel direction against the arrow marked on the belt backing before powering on. Appropriate eye protection, hearing protection, and gloves should be worn during operation per applicable workplace safety standards.
