The 3M 7100190572 is a 747D ceramic flap wheel engineered for light grinding, blending, deburring, and polishing on a range of metal workpieces. The wheel features ceramic aluminum oxide abrasive flaps bonded to an X-weight cotton backing. At 1.5 inches in diameter and P120 grit, this flap wheel delivers a smooth, controlled cut suited for finishing work on flat, rounded, and irregular surfaces. A built-in grind-aid compound promotes cooler operation, which is especially useful when working stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Resin bonding holds the abrasive securely and resists thermal and chemical breakdown over extended use cycles.
This flap wheel is used in fabrication, maintenance, and metalworking applications where surface blending and light material removal are required without aggressive stock removal. The conforming flap design allows the abrasive to follow contours on tubing, pipe, castings, and formed parts. It is well suited for professional metalworkers, pipefitters, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in both shop and field environments. The coated ceramic abrasive construction is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates.
Designed for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials where light grinding, blending, deburring, or polishing is required.
This flap wheel should be mounted on a compatible rotary tool, die grinder, or drill press rated for the wheel diameter and operating speed. Always verify the tool RPM rating does not exceed the wheel's maximum rated speed before use. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves during operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and replace if cracking, fraying, or delamination is present.
