As the abrasive works, each pyramid wears to expose fresh, sharp mineral beneath, producing a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish throughout the belt's usable life. This self-renewing action runs cooler than conventional coated abrasives, reducing heat buildup on the workpiece. The belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing operations.
