The 3M 7100188469 is a coarse-grit rapid removal power sanding belt engineered for aggressive material removal across wood, plastic, and metal surfaces. Built with Precision-Shaped Grain technology, this belt cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts by resisting heat buildup and moisture absorption during extended sanding sessions. At 60 grit, it is well suited for stock removal, leveling uneven surfaces, and initial coarse-sanding stages before progressing to finer grits. Measuring 18 inches long by 3 inches wide, it fits standard 3-inch belt sanders used in fabrication shops, woodworking operations, and general maintenance environments. Sold individually, one belt per pack.
This belt is designed for use on portable and stationary 3-inch belt sanders in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The 60-grit coarse rating makes it appropriate for removing old coatings, flattening rough stock, and cleaning oxidized metal. It performs across all major sanding stages, from aggressive coating removal to initial surface leveling. Applicable surface materials include hardwood, softwood, engineered wood, thermoplastics, and bare or painted metals. It is a practical choice for cabinet shops, metal fabrication benches, and general-purpose finishing stations.
Designed for use on 3-inch belt sanders accepting an 18-inch belt length. Also available in 3 x 21 inch, 3 x 24 inch, 4 x 24 inch, and 4 x 36 inch sizes, and in additional grits including 36, 80, and 120.
Install on a compatible belt sander with the machine unplugged or power isolated before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking adjustment after installation and before resuming work. When sanding metal, ensure the work area is clear of flammable materials, as abrasive friction can generate sparks. Follow applicable shop safety practices and manufacturer guidelines for belt sander operation.
