The 3M 7100185245 is a coated fibre disc designed for rapid, aggressive material removal on hard-to-grind metals. Built around 3M Precision Shaped Grain, the 787C delivers higher cut rates and a cooler grinding action compared to conventional fibre discs. The disc measures 7 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch arbor opening and is rated to 8600 RPM. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, making this disc well suited for heat-sensitive alloys. The stiff fibre backing and strong resin bond give the disc durability and resistance to tearing under heavy load. Licensed tradespeople and experienced fabricators working with abrasives install and operate this disc.
This disc is intended for weld removal, blending, beveling, edge chamfering, and finish refinement on stainless steel and high nickel alloys. It performs in both shop and field environments where consistent cut rate and disc longevity matter. The 120 grit designation positions it as a medium-fine abrasive suitable for stock removal followed by surface blending without excessive surface roughening. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard disc grinders equipped with a 7/8 inch arbor.
Compatible with 3M disc pad face plates and hubs sold separately. Fits standard 7 inch disc grinders with a 7/8 inch arbor. Rated for use on stainless steel and high nickel alloys.
This disc is mounted and operated by qualified personnel familiar with angle grinder safety practices. Always verify the grinder's no-load RPM rating does not exceed the disc's 8600 RPM maximum before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never use a cracked or torn disc. Follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 general abrasive wheel safety guidelines during installation and operation.
